Wah is fi yuh, cyaa be un fi yuh.

Sometimes, I feel a twinge of jealousy when I see others creating amazing images. It’s a fleeting feeling, lasting no more than a minute. This usually happens when someone I was supposed to work with cancels unexpectedly and never reschedules. Out of respect, I won’t reach out again because I believe it’s courteous for them to reschedule at their convenience.

But the truth is, they don’t owe me anything. We don’t have a contract, and neither of us is compensating the other for our time or energy. Plus, life happens, and people forget.

There’s a Jamaican saying, “Wah is fi yuh, cyaa be un fi yuh,” which means “What is to be, will be.” It’s a reminder that you can’t be upset when things don’t go your way because they will when the time is right. Some people believe you have to strike while the iron is hot and pursue your goals with urgency, and I agree. However, not everyone will be part of your journey because they’re working on their own goals.

Find people who resonate with you and share similar goals. People who want to show up and be part of your space. Remember to give grace because not everyone has the same time or energy as you. When all else fails, invest in your goals to fast-track your potential.

Anyways, wah is fi yuh, cyaa be un fi yuh.

Until next time, peace ✌🏾
